Our Founding Story
Ebony Women Health Corp was born out of both urgency and lived experience. After surviving medical neglect, racism, and life-threatening childbirth complications, our founder, Neshé Conley, faced firsthand the realities of Black maternal mortality and the mental health crises too many women of color endure in silence. What began as a deeply personal fight for survival evolved into a vision for collective change: creating a space where Black women’s voices, health, and survival are not only prioritized but protected.
At Ebony Women HC, we transform this vision into action through our services. We partner with healthcare systems, community organizations, and families to close equity gaps in maternal and family health. Our work includes culturally responsive consulting, evidence-based trainings, and community-informed curriculum and workshops that give both institutions and mothers the tools they need to thrive. Through our workshops, trainings, courses, programs, and EchoHer Data System, we uplift the lived experiences of women of color, ensuring that data, advocacy, and healing move hand in hand.
What started as one mother’s fight has grown into a movement. Ebony Women Health Corp stands as a force for transformation—building a future where women of color not only survive, but live, parent, and heal with dignity and power.
Transforming Women of Color Healthcare
We believe that true health equity begins with honoring the voices, cultures, and lived experiences of women of color. Too often, healthcare systems overlook, dismiss, or are uneducated regarding the needs of Black and Brown women, resulting in devastating disparities in maternal health outcomes. We work to transform this reality by equipping institutions with culturally responsive strategies, training healthcare professionals in equity-centered practices, and creating community-driven programs that ensure women of color receive the respectful, quality care they deserve. Our mission is not only to reduce harm but to build a future where women of color thrive across every stage of life.
Our Modern Approach to Narrative Data Collection
Numbers alone cannot capture the depth of women of color’s health experiences. That is why Neshé created EchoHer, an AI-driven, story-informed data solution designed to transform how we understand and respond to maternal and family health disparities.
EchoHer gathers both quantitative data and personal narratives through surveys, storytelling, and culturally grounded assessments, then leverages artificial intelligence to identify patterns, amplify voices, and translate lived experiences into actionable insights.
By combining rigorous evidence-based methods with the richness of narrative, EchoHer ensures that data is not only about outcomes but about the realities, resilience, and needs of our communities—driving policy change, institutional accountability, and a more equitable future in healthcare.
